With the advent of the post-genomic era, the amount of genomic data has been increasing exponentially over the last decade. However, a great number of replication origin (oriCs) locations in archaeal genomes remain unknown. The web-based system Ori-Finder 2 are designed to predict the replication origins in archaeal genomes automatically, based on an integrated method comprising the analysis of base composition asymmetry used the Z-curve method, he distribution of ORB elements identified by FIMO tool, and the occurrence of genes frequently close to replication origin. Users can submit an annotated or unannotated genome sequence to the web server.(more)
